“First Day Hike”

We at CBC intend to start the new year with great fun and exercise!  Each year the national park services hosts a “First Day Hike” on January 1st of each year.  A small group will be venturing out to meet the 3.6 mile challenge.  The plan is to leave the church parking lot by 1215pm almost immediately after church to rendezvous at our starting point in Farmville by 1:00pm.  All are welcomed to come along.  Bag lunches will be provided upon request.  More info below:

Where to Meet: Plaza area on Main Street in the Town of Farmville

Degree of Difficulty: Moderate

Minimum Age for Kids: All ages

Things to Bring: Water Bottle, Proper Clothing

Additional Information: Get the new year started in a healthy and educational way. Join High Bridge Trail Park Education Specialist Bob Flippen for a 3.6 mile hike. The hike will traverse the trail from Main Street in Farmville to the River Road access in Cumberland County. A shuttle will be provided to return participants to Main Street. Bob will share short historic facts along the way. Come out and enjoy the park at this unique time of year.
