Baptisms and Child Dedications

April 25th, 2012 by cull6627 | Permalink

We were blessed this past Sunday, April 22, when we were able to honor Jesus with three willing souls who made a commtiment in baptism, and three children were dedicated by their parents.  What a wonderful expression of love for their children, and an extraordinary expression of devotion to the Lord by all!

We at Cullen Baptist Church exist as a community of believers with the intent to be encouragers in the Faith and be a beacon of light to our surrounding community.  For all who would read this post, know that God has a plan for your life, and we would love to encourage you as you travel the path that He has laid out for you.

You are invited to come visit with us Sunday mornings for Sunday School at 10:00am and Worhip service at 11:00am or call anytime.

God Bless You!

Exciting Easter Sunday Is Here!

April 3rd, 2012 by cull6627 | Permalink

We have an exciting day planned for Easter that will give honor to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and also be family oriented and fun!  All are invited to join us for what will prove to be an awesome day of worship and celebration!!!  Here is the rundown…

7:30am – Sunrise Service begins outside in front of the church near the cross  (I know…the sun will already be up.)

8:00am – We will enjoy a wonderful fellowhsip breakfast with fruit, bagels and more good stuff

11:00am – We will come together to celebrate the life-giving act of our Savior as He rose from the grave, defeating death and offering eternal life to all who would believe in their heart and confess with their mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord.  (Romans 10:9-10)

12:00pm – We will meet again enjoying the fellowship and a delicious meal prepared by some of the finest cooks in the County

After lunch (approximately 1:00pm)  – The children will search high and low for eggs filled with candy on the church grounds.

Easter is an exciting time of year where we reflect on our faith and on what the cost was for our salvation.  Jesus died for our sins on that cross 2,000 years ago so that we may have life and have it more abundantly.  When He rose from the tomb, He conquered death once and for all!  Now, we can be at peace knowing that we will experience the full joy of God’s love for eternity!

So, we celebrate!  And, celebrations should be fun!  So, we will enjoy family meals and allow the children to play.  Additionally, we will be GIVING AWAY A FAMILY EASTER BASKET filled with some great goodies AND a $100 grocery coupon.  Register at the 11:00am service.

Hope to see you there!

New Sunday School Class – Bitesize Theology

March 21st, 2012 by cull6627 | Permalink

Have you ever stopped to ask yourself what Christianity is all about?  I mean, can you explain to someone what the words “Salvation”, “Justification” or “Grace” means for a (dare I say it) theological perspective?  Maybe you have tried to explain your beliefs to a friend but struggled in the process.  Well, there is no better teacher than the Holy Spirit, and with His help we will begin a study that will help you not only understand these concepts and more, but you will also be able to explain them to others.

A new Sunday School class (taught by the Pastor) will begin on Sunday,  15 April at 10:00am.  Please be in prayer and let me know if you would like to (or know anyone who would like to) attend.  We will be using the book, “Bitesize Theology” by Peter Jeffery for our curriculum.  The course will be interactive (discussion oriented where you get to comment and ask questions).  Some examples of the segments will cover Christian faith principles such as: God, Jesus, sin, grace, redemption, justification, election, eternal security to name a few.

This class is targeted for 20s and 30s folks, but this will not be exclusive.  Please just give me a call if interested.

God Bless,

Pastor Robert Perrin

CBC Announces New “Trailblazer” Program for 5th – 7th Graders

February 27th, 2012 by cull6627 | Permalink

Cullen Baptist Church will begin a brand new ministry specifically for 5th to 7th graders on March 11, 2012.  We will meet each Sunday night from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.  This Christ-centered program will integrate spiritual and personal development to help boys and girls build healthy relationships with caring Christian adults, peers, and most importantly, Christ. We will be using Pioneer Clubs, Trailblazer curriculum for its application-oriented inductive Bible study, Scripture memory, life-skills development, and emphasis on discipleship and outreach.  And one of our main goals is to make this program a lot of F-U-N!  Parents please call Margaret Layne, 434-315-1563 to register your young trailblazers.

More information concerning the Pioneer Club and the Trailblazer curriculum may be found at

Missionary Sunday at Cullen Baptist Church

February 16th, 2012 by cull6627 | Permalink

Come join us for Missionary Sunday at Cullen Baptist Church on February 19, 2012 at 1100.  We will feature Brian Fowler, a missionary with Atheletes in Action (AIA), Parker French, a missionary called to start a church in “Sin City” a.k.a. Las Vegas, NV, and Sean Perrin, a missionary who recently returned from a mission trip to Thailand hosted by Youth With A Mission (YWAM).  It will be very exciting, and you do not want to miss it!

God has a plan for each of us, and it is summed up in the Great Commission found in Matthew 28 –

Mat 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

Mat 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Mat 28:20   and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Whether we are missionaries abroad or missionaries at home, we are still all missionaries.  Come be inspired by those who have heard the cry of God in their hearts and have answered the call!
